Format
Individual Rounds
Individual Theme Round
- 45 minutes
- 8 problems
- From all high school math topics
Individual Relay Round
- 45 minutes
- 4 sets of 4 problems each (within a single set, successive problems depend on the solution to the previous)
Team Rounds
Team General Round
- 45 minutes
- 8 unrelated problems
- Team collaborates freely
Team Guts Round
- 60 minutes
- 21 problems of varying difficulty and point values
- Problems are divided into sets of 3
- Each team will have a runner who brings problem sets from the scoring table and drops off the team’s answers for each set
- The point value for each problem increases between each set

Scoring
Individual Rounds
Individual Theme Round
Problems are worth 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 55 points for a total of 300 points
Individual Relay Round
The first set is worth 12, 14, 16, and 18 points. The second set is worth 15, 17, 18, and 20 points. The third set is worth 17, 19, 21, and 23 points. The fourth set is worth 20, 22, 23, and 25 points.
Team Rounds
Team General Round
Problems are worth 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 55 points for a total of 300 points.
Team Guts Round
Problems are weighted by set (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, and 21 points per problem) for a total of 300 points.
Awards
Awards are given for each round and individual and team overall winners.
- Individual overall winners are determined by the sum of scores in the individual rounds
- Team overall winners are determined by the sum of scores in the team rounds
- In case of a tie, the top four individual scores from each team may be taken into account
